The Texas Forest Service TDSS is a web-based
decision tool for non-industrial private forest landowners and others
who are interested in timberland investment and management.
The TDSS currently includes
(1) a set of Basic Financial
Calculators for illustrating basic concepts for timberland
Investment; (2) a Timberland Investment Calculator
to calculate the returns on your investment given the cost and revenue
information of your timberland investment and (3) a Timberland
Management Simulator with loblolly pine growth and yield models. More
functions and models will be added to the system. So please come back and visit us again. If you have any suggestions on adding other
interactive features to help timberland owners make better management
decisions, please let us know.
