Landowner Assistance Forestry Services Vendor Database Welcome to the Forestry Services Vendor Database. This is an interactive database that allows you to find information on various vendors that do work in East Texas. The database can be queried to list only those vendors that meet specified criteria. For example, you might list only those tree planting vendors that machine plant and do work in Cass County. There
are four main databases that can be accessed: |
| 1. Tree Planting Vendors | With County Filter | Without County Filter | |
| 2. Mechanical Site Preparation Vendors | With County Filter | Without County Filter | |
| 3. Herbicide Applicator Vendors | With County Filter | Without County Filter | |
| 4. Prescribed Fire Vendors | With County Filter | Without County Filter |
|
After selecting the database to access, you will need to select the criteria for which you would like to filter the database. This is done from a Query screen. If no criteria are specified, all vendors will be listed. If you would like to specify criteria for a specific county click on the "With County Filter" hyperlink. Two forms of listing will appear on the screen. To the left, a table will list vendors, one per row, showing only the ID number, county, vendor name, vendor location, and vendor phone number. To the right, a detail table will list the various types of practices or equipment used for the vendor that is currently selected in the left table. By clicking on the Vendor ID in the first column of the left table, the right table will show the detailed information for that vendor. Clicking on a column heading in the left table will order the list by that field. The data can also be downloaded onto your computer by selecting "Download." When this is done, data is downloaded into a comma-delimited file that can be opened by MS Excel. The Texas Forest Service in no way certifies that vendors listed in this database meet all legal requirements. However, all tree planting vendors listed include only those that are certified under the TFS Tree Planting Vendor Program. Nevertheless, it is imperative that you as a landowner require proof of insurance (workers comp, liability, etc.), proof of DOL registration as a farm labor contractor if required for a tree planting vendor, and TDA Commercial Applicators License for herbicide application vendors. If you are a vendor and would like to have your business included on these lists, or if you are already listed and would like to update your information, please contact Brad Barber at 979-458-6650 or bbarber@tfs.tamu.edu. |
